Officeworks recalls Comsol magnetic power bank over fire risk

A magnetic power bank that wirelessly charges a number of iPhone models is being recalled over its risk of short-circuiting and catching fire.

The Australian ComPetition and Consumer Commission issued a recall for the Comsol Pty Ltd 10000mAh 20W USB-A & USB-C magnetic wireless power bank sold at Officeworks stores nationally.

It warned the product is at risk of short-circuiting, overheating and catching fire.

“There is a risk of a serious burn injury and/or property damage if the battery overheats and catches fire,” the recall said.

“Stop using the power bank immediately.”

The product is used to wirelessly charge iPhone 12, 13 and 14 models.

It can be returned to Officeworks for a full refund.
