Apple planning to allow third party app stores on iOS

In a series of first, Apple is planning to allow third-party app stores on iOS.

Previously, Apple allowed iPhone and iPad users to download apps from its app store exclusively. However, it is now working on opening the comPetition for others.

As per reports by Bloomberg, 'software engineering and services employees are engaged in a major push to open up key elements of Apple's platforms'.

The move is a part of compliance with the strict European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA) requirements that will be implemented in 2024. As per the rules, digital firms need open markets for other players.

Apple is reportedly working on different measures to ensure security in this regard. Regarding the new rules under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple has been continuously lobbied against the sideloading as it raises security and privacy concerns.

Panasonic puts productivity boost ahead of new EV plant in US
